This handsome little guy decided to make his debut a little early. Luckily, mom and I had already been in contact with one another and had his session ready – all we needed was him! Here he is at a whopping 7 days old. =) Enjoy your sneak peek, mom and dad! I’ll have the rest of them ready for you very soon!

This little guy was all about his bike when we took his 2-year portraits. This time he was just as busy, but without the bike. When he wasn’t being my very own adorable parrot, he was all about giving me his best dog growl! Thanks, mom, for allowing me to photograph your sweet baby again! Enjoy your sneak peek!

I met this High School Senior and his girlfriend yesterday evening for his session. He was so relaxed and easy going. A natural when it came to posing. I think he’s got a career in modeling! The creativity was flowing for sure. We all had ideas and we tried every one of them.
I love the pink shirt against this aqua wall & door.

The black against this blue wall really pops!

As you can see, clothing changes make for a great variety of looks.

Love the blue sky in the background on this.

and even though he’s not smiling in any one of these that I posted, I promise, Mom, I did get some smiles. I kept telling him to “smile for mom”!

I had so much fun following this lil guy around yesterday. He has this awesome bike that he can ride like nobody’s business and he makes his own motorcycle sounds while he’s riding it. He was such a hoot!
I think this one is my favorite. This little version really just does not do it justice. I’m serious. If you could see it B.I.G. you’d know what I mean.

And these were the only two times, I think, that he actually got off of his bike. He loves that thing!!
and this time was because I told him I had a surprise for him.

I love my clients!

Yesterday I received a phone call that went something like this:
“I just finished looking at the slideshow from our session and it made me cry. You are just the best photographer! I love all of the images and I’m going to have a hard time deciding on which ones to get.” – Amy
It made my day to say the least! My response was, “I’m so glad I made you cry!” Which is a little ironic, because who wants to make someone cry? But, as a photographer I try to capture the essence of the person in the image and to hear that a mom loved them so much it made her cry…well, it’s a dream come true.
And imagine my surprise when I received this email in my inbox this morning:
“Camille….you are the best…..got the book of the photo shoot….and I love it. I’m amazed how blown away I am at everything you do for me. The pictures, invitations, books, you put your heart into every project and you can really tell it! I cringe to think about the hours you spend on me and my family…but I thank you for it!” – Karen
When I asked if I could share her email on the blog her reply was, “Sure, and I’m showing off the book at work right now!”
I do put my heart and soul into everything I do at The Cardinal Rule Photography because it’s something I dearly love – providing you with prints and products that you will dearly love. It’s “the cardinal rule” at The Cardinal Rule.
God has blessed me, and I pray that he blesses you.

Sneak peek from last weeks session. You’ve all seen Baby J here before, but this is the debut of his cousins.
With these two mobile, they were having a grand time:

and this one not wanting any part of the camera until the last 15 minutes of the hour (and then, only if daddy was right beside her):

we all worked worked together and finally achieved this:

Merry Christmas

My dad had a star exactly like this one on his tree when he was a kid. This star is the one that has been on the tree my entire life. Now, it’s on my son’s tree. If I had nothing else on my tree but this star, it’d be okay. They don’t make them anymore and it has the “old school” wiring and plug on it so I hope that with care, it’ll last and last. I’d love to pass it onto our son when he has a child of his own.
I hope you all had a wonderful day, and that we all remember that this day was not about food or presents, but about the birth of Jesus Christ. Merry Christmas.

Gift Giveaway

Not from me (unless I win!), but from Chris Pirillo. If you’re a part of the geek community, you’ve probably heard of him. I’ve known of him for several years – learning of him when my husband got me started in the blogging community back in 2003 (I think), and we used to watch him on TechTV. Anyway, Chris received the “gift of giving” by Sears and now wants to give more! You can find out how to enter by going here. Should I be chosen to win, I want the Family Game Night pack so I can share it with people in the community who could use some help during these hard times. Luckily, my son is only four and has no idea that I *could* have chosen the Star Wars Smiles pack. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be happy – he’s following in his dad’s footsteps and LOVES everything Star Wars.

Even though I have a child of my own, it still amazes me at how fast they grow. I had so much fun photographing Baby J the other day, watching him discovering Christmas ornaments with wonder in his eyes was priceless.
