Merry Christmas

My dad had a star exactly like this one on his tree when he was a kid. This star is the one that has been on the tree my entire life. Now, it’s on my son’s tree. If I had nothing else on my tree but this star, it’d be okay. They don’t make them anymore and it has the “old school” wiring and plug on it so I hope that with care, it’ll last and last. I’d love to pass it onto our son when he has a child of his own.

I hope you all had a wonderful day, and that we all remember that this day was not about food or presents, but about the birth of Jesus Christ. Merry Christmas.

Gift Giveaway

Not from me (unless I win!), but from Chris Pirillo. If you’re a part of the geek community, you’ve probably heard of him. I’ve known of him for several years – learning of him when my husband got me started in the blogging community back in 2003 (I think), and we used to watch him on TechTV. Anyway, Chris received the “gift of giving” by Sears and now wants to give more! You can find out how to enter by going here. Should I be chosen to win, I want the Family Game Night pack so I can share it with people in the community who could use some help during these hard times. Luckily, my son is only four and has no idea that I *could* have chosen the Star Wars Smiles pack. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be happy – he’s following in his dad’s footsteps and LOVES everything Star Wars.

Heartfelt Thanks

My sincerest gratitude goes out to each and every one of you who allowed me to photograph you, your family and/or your children this year. Being a photographer really is an almost lifelong dream come true for me. “Almost” lifelong, because I only started dreaming of it some twenty years ago. To say I’m “happy” is an understatement. It really is a deep feeling, therefore I believe it is joy. The Bible has taught me that joy is much more than happiness. Joy is abiding and comes from God. I’ll save you from the long testimony as to how I believe God led me to where I am today for another time, but it is something I truly believe. With that, I believe that there is a greater cause for my photography and pray that I can put my talents to use through joining that greater cause in 2009.

To my current and future clients, I look forward to continuing to serve you throughout the years, and wish you all many blessings and abiding joy.
